Coimbatore Junction is one of the busiest stations in Tamil Nadu. A few small habits make a big difference between a calm transit and a stressful one.

Time your arrival

Aim to reach the station 25-30 minutes before departure. Auto traffic around Gandhipuram peaks in the early morning and evening; if you're walking from Shiva Grand it's a flat 5 minutes.

Use Platform 1 entrance

The main Platform 1 entrance (Old Post Office Road side) has the shortest queues for security check. The Gandhipuram side is busier with bus-transit passengers.

Food on the platform

If you're catching an early train, the IRCTC stalls open from 5am. For longer journeys, pick up vegetarian tiffin from the platform itself — it's safer than the food on board.
